By confirming a booking with People Tours & Safaris, all guests acknowledge that they have read, understood, and accepted the following Terms & Conditions.
Booking & Confirmation
- All bookings are subject to availability.
- A booking is only confirmed once the required deposit or full payment has been received and written confirmation has been issued by People Tours & Safaris.
- Guests are responsible for ensuring that all booking details provided are accurate.
Payment
- A 50% deposit is required to secure the booking unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- The remaining balance must be paid before the commencement of the tour.
- Payments may be made via bank transfer, online payment link, or other approved payment methods.
- Credit card or online payment fees, where applicable, are payable by the guest.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation fees are calculated from the date written cancellation is received.
- 100% cancellation fee will be charged for no-shows and same-day cancellations.
- Cancellations made within 48 hours of the excursion will incur cancellation fees, which may be negotiable.
- Full refunds will be granted for cancellations made at least 72 hours prior to the excursion date.
- Non-Namibian tour leaders/escorts traveling with groups will travel free of charge.
Any third-party supplier cancellation policies may also apply where applicable.
Tour Departure
- Guests must arrive at the designated meeting point at least 15 minutes before departure.
- The vehicle cannot be delayed for late arrivals.
- No refunds will be given for missed departures due to late arrival.
Weather, Tide & Route Changes
Sandwich Harbour operates in a unique coastal environment where access depends on tides, weather, and safety conditions.
People Tours & Safaris reserves the right to:
- Alter the route or itinerary.
- Delay departure.
- Shorten the excursion.
- Cancel the tour if conditions are considered unsafe.
Alternative routes or experiences will be provided where reasonably possible. If a tour cannot operate and no suitable alternative is available, guests may be offered a rescheduled departure or refund at the company’s discretion.
Safety
Guests must follow all instructions given by the guide at all times.
The guide has the authority to refuse participation or remove any guest whose behaviour:
- Endangers themselves or others.
- Is abusive or disruptive.
- Is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Prevents the safe operation of the tour.
No refund will be issued in such cases.
Health & Medical Declaration
Guests are responsible for ensuring they are medically fit to participate.
The Sandwich Harbour excursion involves:
- Travelling over rough sand dunes.
- Sudden vehicle movement.
- Uneven terrain.
- Remote desert conditions.
The tour may not be suitable for individuals with:
- Serious back or neck conditions.
- Recent surgery.
- Severe heart conditions.
- Advanced pregnancy.
- Mobility limitations that may be affected by off-road driving.
Guests with any medical condition should consult their physician before participating.
Guests are required to inform People Tours & Safaris prior to departure of any medical condition, disability, allergy, or dietary requirement that may affect their participation or require assistance.
Failure to disclose relevant medical information may result in refusal to participate if safety could be compromised.
Medical Emergencies
In the event of illness or injury:
- The guide may arrange emergency medical assistance where possible.
- Any medical, evacuation, rescue, hospital, or transportation costs remain the sole responsibility of the guest.
- People Tours & Safaris accepts no responsibility for medical expenses incurred during or after the tour.
Comprehensive travel insurance covering emergency medical treatment and evacuation is strongly recommended.
Travel Insurance
Guests are strongly advised to obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering:
- Medical expenses
- Emergency evacuation
- Personal accidents
- Cancellation
- Personal belongings
- Delayed or interrupted travel
Children
Children are welcome when accompanied by a responsible adult.
Parents or guardians remain fully responsible for supervising children throughout the excursion.
Child safety seats must be requested at the time of booking and are subject to availability.
Wildlife & Nature
Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.
Guests agree to:
- Respect wildlife.
- Not feed any animals.
- Follow all conservation regulations.
- Leave no litter in protected areas.
Photography
Guests are welcome to photograph and film during the excursion.
People Tours & Safaris may take photographs or videos during tours for promotional purposes. If a guest does not wish to appear in such material, they should notify the guide before departure.
Personal Property
Guests are responsible for their own personal belongings.
People Tours & Safaris accepts no liability for loss, theft, or damage to personal items including cameras, phones, drones, luggage, or valuables.
Vehicle Damage
Guests may be held responsible for any damage caused intentionally or through negligence to company vehicles or equipment.
Force Majeure
People Tours & Safaris shall not be liable for failure or delay in providing services due to events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Severe weather
- Flooding
- Natural disasters
- Road closures
- Government restrictions
- Civil unrest
- Mechanical breakdowns
- Acts of God
Liability
While every reasonable precaution is taken to ensure guest safety, participation is entirely at the guest’s own risk.
People Tours & Safaris, its directors, employees, guides, contractors, and affiliates shall not be liable for:
- Personal injury
- Death
- Illness
- Loss or damage to personal property
- Delays
- Missed flights or onward travel arrangements
- Costs arising from circumstances beyond the company’s control
Except where liability cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.
Indemnity
Guests agree to indemnify and hold harmless People Tours & Safaris, its employees, guides, agents, and affiliates against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses arising from their participation in the tour, except where caused by proven gross negligence or wilful misconduct by the company.
Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Namibia.
Any dispute arising from these Terms & Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Namibian courts.
Acceptance
Payment of a deposit or full payment constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions on behalf of all persons included in the booking.
Guests confirm that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions before participating in the tour.
